I love helping other writers because I know what the process is like. From writing to editing to maybe crying a bit to wondering what's the next step, I have been there. Luckily, I have a great support system that not only lets me cry but hands me a box of tissues. FYI: I'm totally an ugly crier.
I have also felt that indescribable moment of disbelief,
joy, and anxiety when holding my book baby for the very first time. All those words and characters that took up residence for so long in my mind are finally in print --
in my hands. My dream is now a reality. No longer a dream. No longer a wistful thought.
During the publishing process for my book, Bittersweet Confessions (available online), I was less than impressed with the graphic design company that completed the interior format. The lack of communication and professionalism made the process a hundred times more stressful. No writer should ever have to feel that way.
My creative mind, slightly perfectionist side,
and competitive spirit push me to design a polished and professional book.
Never Asked Questions
QUESTION: I just finished writing my first book! It's about aliens finding love as they travel across the galaxy in search of a pink star named Luxury. A friend of mine designed a beautiful front cover, but he doesn't know how to format my book into a paperback. Please help me.
ANSWER: Congratulations on completing your first book! I would be more than happy to help format your book into a paperback and ebook. I recommend checking with your friend if he can create a full-wrap cover once you have the final page count for the paperback. If not, I could design one for a small charge.
SUPER QUICK FOLLOW-UP QUESTION: Uh, what's a full-wrap cover? And do I need one?
ANSWER: If you plan to publish your book as a paperback, yes; you need a full-wrap cover. A full-wrap cover is one graphic containing the book's front cover, the spine, and the back cover (which should include the summary). The three-in-one graphic wraps around the outside of the book.
Probably one of my favorite full-wrap covers.
QUESTION: Your amazing and beautiful site says you're a writer, designer, and editor. Do I have to buy all of your services?
ANSWER: Nope. You pick and choose what services you want. Need a book cover? Not a problem. Need someone to proofread your book? I have a great eye for overall design and obvious errors.
QUESTION: Do pineapples belong on a pizza? Describe your favorite pizza.
ANSWER: Not on my pizza!!! Absolutely not. My favorite pizza? Hmmmmm. Definitely a deep dish or pan style pizza or stuffed crust (with cheese obviously) pizza with any kind of meat and most vegetables. Oh, I looooove breakfast pizza.
QUESTION: I've checked out your awesome and beautiful work on the PORTFOLIO page. If I contact some of the writers you've worked with, what will they say about you?
ANSWER: If you reach out to Olivia Jaye (author of Someone Like You), she will sing my praises to the highest of heavens. She loves and adores me as much as I love and adore her. And I didn't have to pay her (much) to say super nice stuff about me.
If you reach out to Jade Saul (author of The Baltic Sanction), I think he would say I'm the best editor ever. As far as I know, I haven't been hit with a restraining order.
