Chapters & Dividers

Adding a simple full-page image or a small graphic to a new chapter should help set the tone of the story and offer clarity with multiple character POVs (point of view).

Based on the cover* alone, the story is about music. Keeping with the theme, two different full-page images are used alternatively at the beginning of each new chapter.

In addition to designing custom chapter headers for the two main characters, I also created a simple full-page divider for extra content.

While full-page images look impressive in a paperback, they could appear pixelated or blurry in the ebook version. In place of pictures, I rely on shading and simple graphics to make the ebook stand out.

I can create chapter dividers (Part One, Two, etc.) and back matter (About the Author, Acknowledgments, etc.) that complement the chapter headers.
